Paint correction is the process of machine polishing your vehicle’s clear coat to remove swirl marks, light scratches, and dullness—restoring a deep, glossy finish.

  • A single-stage machine polish that removes light swirl marks and enhances gloss for a noticeable improvement.

  • A two-stage process using compounding and polishing to remove moderate defects and restore deep, high-level gloss.

  • A multi-stage correction that removes heavy defects, refines the finish, and delivers a near flawless, mirror-like result.

    • 1-step correction uses a single compound or polish to both cut and refine the paint. It’s quicker and less labor-intensive, ideal for light swirls or minor imperfections. The finish is usually good but may not completely remove deeper scratches.

    • 2-step correction separates the process into a cutting stage and a polishing stage. The first step aggressively removes defects, while the second step refines the paint to a glossy, smooth finish. This gives better results than a 1-step, especially for moderate imperfections.

    • 3-step correction adds an extra polishing stage for maximum refinement. The first step cuts deeper scratches, the second step polishes out medium imperfections, and the final step perfects the paint for a flawless, mirror-like finish. It’s the most time-consuming but achieves the highest level of clarity and depth in the paint.

Brought my car to Detail Doctors for paint correction and Brenden absolutely killed it. I knew the paint had some swirl marks, but I didn’t realize how dull it looked until I saw it after. The finish is super smooth now and honestly looks better than when I got the car.
